The Hydra Toolkit can read meshes in multiple formats that are readily available from multiple meshing tools.

Meshing Software

Meshing tools that are compatible with the Hydra Toolkit include:

• Simmetrix Simmodeler
• Numeca Hexpress/Hybrid
• Cubit
• Trelis
• TrueGrid
• ICEM CFD
• GridGen

The abstract interfaces for mesh readers in the Hydra Toolkit permits additional readers to be easily added.

Simmetrix SimModeler now provides a Hydra Plugin for model setup providing direct associations between the mesh, Hydra analysis attributes, and the underlying CAD model.

Mesh Translators

The Hydra Toolkit provides the following mesh translators:

• Exodus-II to FLUENT (.msh) format
• FLUENT (.msh) to Exodus-II format
• ASCII Mesh to Exodus-II format
• Netgen neutral file to Exodus-II format

Computational Model Builder

 The Computational Model Builder (CMB) provides a generalized interface that supports application model builders.   Coming soon ... the extended Hydra template files for the CMB.
